Can the Auris One stay outdoors year-round?
Yes — it's designed as a permanent outdoor freestanding sauna for patios, poolside spaces, and gardens, and the natural red cedar is meant to live outside, deepening in character over time.

What's the difference between the electric and wood-burning options?
The electric configuration (4.5 KW Harvia KIP) offers the ease of modern wellness — clean, reliable heat ready in minutes. The wood-burning option, available on request, returns the ritual to fire, stone, water, and breath for a more traditional experience.

Do I need professional installation?
The cedar cabin arrives pre-built, so there's no structural assembly. The electric heater, however, must be wired by a licensed electrician — see the next question — and professional installation is available if you'd like help with the rest of the setup.

Do I need a licensed electrician for the 220–240V or 380V options?
Yes — for every electric configuration, including 220–240V and 380V, Harvia requires the KIP heater to be hardwired by a licensed electrician who follows the supplied wiring diagram and local electrical codes. Improper wiring voids the heater's parts warranty, and your electrician should label the sauna breaker in your panel. Only the wood-burning option requires no electrical hookup.

What kind of surface or foundation does it need?

Is the heater included?
The Harvia KIP electric heater is included when selected at checkout, along with sauna stones, a wooden bucket and ladle kit, and a sand timer and thermometer.

Will the cedar exterior change over time?
Yes — natural red cedar deepens beautifully with age, and the change is part of its appeal. The rich aromatic character remains from the first session onward.

How long does the sauna take to heat up?
That depends on your heater choice and the weather. Electric heaters typically bring a cabin this size to bathing temperature in roughly 30–60 minutes; a wood-burning stove builds heat more gradually and rewards a slower, more traditional ritual. Outdoor temperature and season also play a role.
