How to choose your cold plunge
From chillers to materials, here's what separates one plunge from another — so you can pick the one you'll actually use every day.

Chiller or ice?
A built-in chiller lets you set a precise temperature and plunge any time, no ice required. Ice-only tubs cost less up front but need a steady supply of ice.

Cold only, or hot too?
Some units chill only; others heat as well, so you can run a warm soak or alternate hot and cold in the same tub.

Material & insulation
Fiberglass, acrylic, and ThermoWood each balance durability, insulation, and looks differently. Better insulation holds temperature with less energy.

Filtration & upkeep
Look for UV, ozone, or continuous filtration to keep the water clean between changes — it makes daily use far easier.

Size & placement
Check the interior depth and footprint, and whether you'll set it up indoors or out. Most plunges work in either with the right surface and drainage.
