Description
There's a particular kind of clarity that arrives in the first few seconds of cold water — the sharp inhale, the noise of the day cut clean, the strange calm that follows. The IceBarrel is built to make that moment part of your routine, in a compact upright form that fits almost anywhere you want it.
The upright stance is the point. You step in, sink to your shoulders, and the cold holds you exactly where you are — no sprawling footprint, no dedicated room required. A corner of the home gym, the edge of a patio, a quiet spot in the backyard: the IceBarrel slips into the life you already have rather than demanding you rebuild it. When stepping in and out should feel more secure, optional anti-slip stairs with handrails are there for it.
Handcrafted from premium Thermowood with stainless steel, it pairs a quiet, considered look with serious capability — the kind of object that improves a space instead of apologizing for being in it. Thermowood is naturally suited to living outdoors, so the barrel stays out through every season, ready whenever you are.
And ownership stays simple. There's no plumbing, no contractor, no project: fill it, plug it in, and go. The water is chilled for an invigorating plunge or warmed for a soothing soak, and it holds your preferred temperature without being asked twice — so the only decision left each morning is whether today is a cold day or a warm one.
More than equipment, the IceBarrel is a standing invitation to start — or end — the day with a few deliberate minutes of cold, and the quiet that follows.

Care & Maintenance
A three-stage filtration system and built-in ozonator circulate and sanitize the water automatically, reducing reliance on harsh chemicals — the pump turns the water over roughly every six minutes. The 5-micron cartridge filter is replaceable, and three cartridges are included to get you started. The insulated Thermo cover protects the water between sessions.
Safety Information
Cold-water immersion isn't right for everyone. Consult your physician before use, especially if you are pregnant or have a heart condition, high blood pressure, or any cardiovascular or other medical concern. Start with brief, moderate sessions, never plunge alone, and exit if you feel unwell. Always supervise children around the tub.
Frequently Asked Questions
How cold does the IceBarrel get?
It chills to 37.4°F (3°C) and can also heat up to 100.4°F (38°C), so the same tub works for cold plunges and warm soaks.
How is it different from the IceBarrel XL?
The IceBarrel is the compact upright model with a stainless steel interior and a smaller footprint. The XL offers a larger immersion design with a fiberglass interior.
Does it require plumbing or special wiring?
No — fill it with a garden hose, plug it into a standard grounded 110V GFCI-protected outlet (no dedicated circuit needed), and control the temperature from the app or onboard panel.
How is the water kept clean?
A three-stage filtration system and built-in ozonator circulate and sanitize the water automatically, reducing chemical use and keeping it ready for daily use.
Can I use it outdoors?
Yes — the Thermowood-and-stainless build is made for year-round indoor or outdoor use on a level surface near an outlet.
Are stairs included?
Anti-slip stairs with handrails are available as an option for easier, secure entry and exit.
How long should a cold plunge session last?
Start small. Most people begin with 1–3 minutes and build up gradually over weeks as their body adapts — consistency matters far more than duration, and a few minutes is enough for that unmistakable post-plunge clarity. Listen to your body, step out if anything feels wrong, and check with your doctor before starting a cold-therapy routine.
I'm new to cold plunging — how should I start?
Start with brief, moderate sessions and ease in gradually. Never plunge alone, exit if you feel unwell, and consult your physician first if you're pregnant or have a heart condition, high blood pressure, or other medical concerns.
