Description

Your Own Corner of the North

There's a version of the end of the day where you don't reach for your phone — you reach for the door of a sauna, step into the warmth, and let the cold and the noise stay outside. The Nordic Misty brings that to your own backyard.

From the outside it reads as quiet Scandinavian architecture: a dark, heat-treated spruce exterior, weathered to resist sun and time, sitting low and handsome in the garden. Step through the lockable, full-length tinted glass door and the mood shifts — a warm interior of heat-treated aspen, a panoramic tinted glass wall that pulls in the daylight and the view while keeping you completely private, and soft recessed light glowing from beneath the benches and above the backrest. The Harvia heater builds a deep, enveloping warmth, and the bench is yours for as long as you want it.

You also get to choose your ritual. Take the Harvia Virta electric heater for effortless, push-button warmth — or the traditional Harvia wood-burning stove, and make the fire itself part of the ceremony: the crackle, the scent of smoke, the full Nordic ritual, twenty steps from the back door.

It arrives fully assembled and pre-wired — a turnkey cabin set on your prepared foundation, ready the day it lands. And it grows with you: the Nordic Misty connects to other Misty modules — a lounge, a changing room, a covered terrace — so you can start with the sauna and build a whole outdoor wellness retreat over time, exactly to your space.

Some things you add to a home are features. This is a place — somewhere, just outside the back door, that's entirely your own.

Care & Maintenance

  • Wash the interior with a gentle, sauna-safe cleanser and rinse well — the bench covers and floor grilles lift out to make this easy
  • Re-oil the benches with the included paraffin oil about once a year; re-stain the exterior every few years to keep the deep black finish
  • Restack the heater stones at least once a year and replace any that have crumbled
  • Wood-burning model: empty the ashes after each use (into a non-combustible container) and have the chimney swept regularly
  • Occasionally tighten the door-handle screws and oil the roller latch — normal upkeep as the wood settles

Safety Information

Sauna use isn't right for everyone. Consult your physician before use, especially if you are pregnant or have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or any cardiovascular or other medical concern. Begin with shorter, lower-heat sessions, hydrate, avoid alcohol before use, limit sessions (don't exceed ~30 minutes), supervise children, and keep the door locked when not in use. Use only clean water on the stones.

Wood-burning model: preheat the stove outdoors on a non-combustible base before first use, keep the area in front of the stove clear of anything flammable (the hearth plate is included for this), and only burn dry, natural firewood — never liquid fuel or cardboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose the electric or wood-burning heater?
Both are Harvia. The 9kW Virta electric heater gives you push-button convenience and needs no flue for firewood; the traditional Harvia wood-burning stove delivers the classic Nordic ritual - fire, crackle, and scent. It comes down to whether you want the fastest route to heat or the full ceremony — and either way the heater is included with the sauna; you simply choose at order.

Can people see inside?
The full-length tinted glass wall brings in natural light and views while maintaining privacy during daytime use, and the door is lockable.

Is it really modular?
Yes - it connects via screw connections to other Nordic Misty modules (lounge, changing room, covered terrace), so you can start with the sauna and expand your outdoor space over time.

How is it delivered - do I need a crane?
It arrives fully assembled and turnkey via flatbed trailer, and a forklift or crane is normally required for offloading and placement (manual offloading by 3-4 people is possible for some configurations). You're notified about two weeks ahead to prepare the site, and the heater, flue, and door handle are fitted on-site.

What foundation does it need?
A firm, level surface with slight drainage runoff - concrete slabs, decking, pavers, or compacted gravel. It should never sit directly on the ground, and needs airflow underneath. The cabin has its own drainage built in.

Do I need an electrician?
For the electric version, yes - the heater must be hardwired (240V) by a licensed electrician, though the cabin arrives pre-wired with the connection point ready at the rear. The wood-burning version needs no electrical hookup for the stove itself - its LED lighting simply plugs into a socket under the sauna, and can even run from an approved outdoor extension lead.

How long does it take to heat up?
About an hour to reach a bathing temperature of roughly 149-176°F, depending on outdoor conditions.
